Surprise! In anticipation of the first chapter of my original comic “The Ingrids Manoeuvre” I’ve decided to make a free digital artbook where I could conveniently group all of my important bits of concept and character art, along with commentary explaining my sources of reference, inspirations, or problems I had designing the characters. I have first come up with the idea for the comic in around 2013 when I made my first doodles of several of the major characters, and the latest of the drawings in the book is from 2025. As you remember, “The Ingrids Manoeuvre” is made because of my fascination for the Swinging London era and the time of all those great British bands that I used to listen to. Even back then in 2013, I couldn’t get enough of The Beatles and the Zombies, and I had just discovered the Kinks, anšd I couldn’t stop admiring how utterly genius their songwriting was.
The artbook can be seen HERE! In the dedicated page in the comics section as an online pdf for easy viewing. It’s a compressed pdf that’s about 5MB in size, although for real fidelity I recommend seeing the high quality version that you can find for free on my Patreon: It’s 200MB in size and if needed it can be printed out on A4-size paper per page. Mass printing locally is still way out of my range at this moment even though I would really love to see a print version in my hands, but the important thing is that everybody may access this, and at no cost.
And still it’s not absolutely -everything- I had, since I had to select the very best and most representative of my concept art to contain in a limited number of pages. What is in the book is roughly about maybe 40-45% of all the concept art I ever drew, although in actuality most of what’s left are just scribbles and doodles made in pencil that aren’t really worth representing much. However, in case you want to see more stuff, I post all of my more base doodles and other junk on my personal deviantART page. Lots of stuff usually falls under the Scraps section in the gallery, so it’s a chance for you to see me unfiltered, if you’re willing to part with any semblance of quality, sense, or good taste.
And I would like to ask again – if possible, please support my work on Patreon! It’s only through Patreon that I can really fund my work and continue making the comics I always wanted to. I’ve been wanting to make the Ingrids Manoeuvre for over 12 years and now I’m finally doing it and I hope I can do it in a day where I no longer have to think about working side-gigs just to be able to cover my living costs. Even at just $1 a month I appreciate it, although more than that it would mean to me if you read my works, spread the word, and have things to say about them.
